Slavomír Šahin is a defence economist and policy analyst. His work revolves around defence expenditure and defence policy with particular focus on investment planning.

As a senior consultant at the Defence Policy Department of the Ministry of Defence of the Slovak Republic he took part in defence planning and programming processes, briefing preparations for MoD leadership, and was a member of various project teams. Before that he worked on ex-ante evaluation of defence procurement and investment planning, and on defence spending review at Value for Money Department of the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic.

Slavo holds a Master of Science degree in Strategic Studies and International Law and a Master of Arts (Hons) in Economics and Politics, both from the University of Aberdeen, UK.
